Holland's entrance into this world was... a little bit dramatic.
Not only was she almost 3 weeks early, but the surgery that brought her into this world created some rather interesting side effects for her mother.
I'm not going to go into the whole long story here, except to say that in the process of my surgery, I had a really weird, and rather unsettling (for those around me. I have no memory of it) reaction to some of the medication that was used in my epidural.
As a result, She was a little bit late in getting to meet her brother and the rest of the family...
But meet him she did
And he loved her.
He is by far her biggest fan, as you can see.
We are all pretty big fans too... Just take a look at that face:
More soon, when we're getting a little more sleep around here...

Eeek! HOW adorable! :)
Oh Mel, she's such a sweetie. Big congrats to your whole family.
That video just squeezed my heart. The sibling interaction is the BEST part of having two kids. I love the way they look at each other and just LOVE each other (right now at least). Thank you for capturing that SO perfectly. You all loook marvelous and I need to come meet Holland in person!
Such darling pictures! Can't wait to see Sadie as a big sister. Let the sibling bonding begin! Hope recovery is going well. I know sleep is out of the question though. Take care!
The pictures are adorable, but the video is priceless! What a proud big brother :) Congrats!!
oh my goodness! she's gorgeous! congratulations!
that video...DIE
I wish I would have gotten more of my boys on video when Fatty was small.
Love you guys! I want to meet her!
I loved that video too. If anyone has any doubts about having two or more kids you should show them that movie of Nolan and Holland.
So precious. She is so adorable.
Oh my goodness! How sweet. She is absolutely breathtaking, and that boy and his soft kisses. Unbelievable. I'm pretty sure that when the girls were that age, Van was trying to step on their heads. They're bound to be friends!
I hope you're recovering. I'm praying for extra sleep for you.
She's perfect Mel. I'm so glad she's here and that Nolan is going to be such a great big brother.
Doting big brother is very sweet! She is beautiful!
This is fantastic. Congratulations. Sorry to hear about the complications. I'm eager to hear how life changes with #2... :)
So teeny. So perfect. And such a lucky girl to have a GREAT big brother.
what a beauty!! And the video is too cute, what a wonderful big brother. Get some sleep, then more photos!!!
Those pictures are amazing! It makes me want to do just like Nolan was, althought that'd be weird to starts snuggling my computer screen. I'm so glad that you are recovering from the delivery and that the side effects wore off. Now you can endure the true side effects of delivery: a daughter! And a big brother son! Enjoy them!
Loved every picture. What darling children. Holland is darling. And her big brother has been a cutie since the day he arrived too. Got good genes!!!! Totally happy for all four of you!
Mel, there are not enough words to explain what your video meant to me... and I'm sure what it will mean to your kids as they grow up. I'm so glad you are on the fast road to recovery now.
She is beautiful!! I am so glad you are not pregnant any more. PLEASE call me if you need anything!!
Mel, she's beautiful! And she reminds me so much of Nolan already. I love the picture of you two together with her eyes open so wide and aware. Gorgeous!
I loved all of the "big brother smooches" that she received in the video. She is precious and blessed to have such a loving big brother to watch out for her.
So darling!!! You guys do good work. Congratulations!
That video is fan-freakin-tastic! I love how many times he kisses her! Such cute pictures, don't know who she looks like.
