Am I the only one who is a little bit skeptical about this?
I have no doubt that these people can act the parts, but I'm definitely not sure they can sing them. Especially after this trailer. It's tough music! And if all of them Rex Harrison their way through it, I will have to cry.
Johnny is fabulous, but based on this, I don't think he can sing it.
I hope I'm wrong.

Dang. There is SO much potential there for coolness, but I'm with you--I'm getting a teeny bit worried that they're going to bungle the whole thing. Bleh. Time to lower my expectations, I'm afraid.
I can't lie; I'm very excited for this. I love Sweeney, and I love Johnny.
But, in my heart I know I'm going to be disappointed. I always have such high hopes for Tim Burton, but he never comes through for me the way I want him to.
I have to agree. For the ammount of English speaking shows Jonny has done you think his accent would have lost the Dick Van Dyke element. I do like him though and I think Helena could be good. However, the thing about this is the music and should have been the selling point which obviously it is not. So just make a movie about Sweeney Todd and get rid of the music if you are not going to cast people who can sing it.
