I just had to share a picture of my first attempt at cupcakes from my new Hello Cupcake! book. We went to a BBQ at Barta's house on Monday night, and we were supposed to contribute. . . which pretty much always means I'll bring cupcakes.
They're lemon cupcakes with jelly bellys for kernels, starbursts for butter, and black and white sugar for salt and pepper. I was really happy with the result. (I can't say the same for the sunflowers I tried. . . but that's a story for another post)
AND, Nolan with his girlfriend Melissa at the BBQ. I just thought this one was cute.

Love the cuppy cakes! I have the photo on my fridge and it still makes me giggle every time I look at it. I already bought the jelly beans, now I just need an occasion!
I love those cupcakes! I been meaning to try them since I saw the picture while pursuing at the bookstore. Where'd you find black sugar?
The black sugar (and pretty much any other color you need) I found at Shepherds, which is now sort of living a small life inside of Funfinity! It's in that shopping center with the Coneys and Distribution Center.
